In addition to buying your unwanted silver and gold jewelry, we also buy silver and gold coins. These are the items that customers generally have to most questions about. Here's a guide to coins, as well as some references where you can see exactly what your coins are worth.
Silver Coins: As a general rule of thumb, we accept U.S. coins minted 1964 and earlier. These coins are generally 90% silver. There are some exceptions to this, i.e. nickles. We will look your coins up in a reference guide to see if they carry collectors value, (which we can not always offer due to demand), then we will test and weigh your coins to see if the silver value is higher than the book value. If it is, you are provided with a quote based off the spot price of silver.
Gold Coins: All gold coins that are U.S. minted will be found in the book, then weighed for the gold value. If the coins are foreign, then they will be researched and an offer will be made depending on the information found.
Gold and Silver Bouillon Coins: These coins will be checked for markings labeling them as .999 fineness, then and quote will be given based off the spot price of silver or gold.
Here is a good website for researching your coins ahead of time: http://www.pcgs.com/prices
(Please keep in mind that these prices may or may not be matched depending in the demand, overhead and spot price of silver or gold. Prices listed on any website are a reference.)
